Update : already posted 3 days ago http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...hes-the-affordable-Smart-prime-7-for-just-£75
I love Vodafone handsets because they run a more or less unmolested instance of Android and their phones are reasonably well built by TCL (Alcatel). While they don't update the OS you buy with the phone there are still plenty of reasons in favour of these phones.
Let's hope the new Smart 7 range makes it to SA soon.

Anyone who thinks smartphones are all just too damn expensive obviously hasn't come across the newly-launched Vodafone Smart Prime 7 for £75 and the Vodafone Smart First 7 for a staggering £25 on pay as you go.
The last time we spent £25 on a phone it was made of large, colourful plastic and designed for toddlers, but the Vodafone Smart First 7 offers a 3.5-inch screen, a 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, a 2MP camera, a 1400mAh battery and Android Lollipop on board.
Those are some incredibly basic specs for a smartphone, so we wouldn't expect great performance from it, but for £25 it could potentially be useful as a spare or backup device.
Vodafone Smart Prime 7
The Vodafone Smart Prime 7, which is a successor to the Vodafone Smart Prime 6, is better equipped, with a 5-inch HD screen, an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front-facing one, a quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a 2540mAh battery and Android Marshmallow.
That's still far from high-end, but on paper it's a respectable entry-level spec. Both phones are out now on both pay as you go and contract, so if you're in the market for a budget smartphone then check them out.
