Hi all

I've installed the VOdafone Connect Software and after the first restart the Vodafone Setup Wizard starts. All goes well until I try to choose the "PC Data Card" option I get the classic old Microsoft error saying sorry for the problem and all and all. When I look at the details it looks like "setup.exe" is having problems with "mfc70.dll" and the proggy closes.

I can't run "Vodafone Mobile Connect" as it gives me a "Runtime Error" message.

Any ideas? I have updated Windows fully and full virus + adware scan.

Any help will be appreciated

which version of windows do you use?
are u using a desktop pc or notebook/laptop pc?
generally you should install the drivers for your hardware before installing the hardware to avoid problems

Correct, so make sure that you have all your Windows Updates installed. VMC most prob. want to create a component and is passing an updated param. to mfc.

EDIT: What would be usefull is if you can post *ALL* the numbers and crap (there is a details button normally) and then we can help even more :)

Laterz !

I have the same problem. I had an VMC 6.0 installation that worked very well, but after the upgrade tot 7.0 I can't start the program with the shortcut (runtime error) and setup.exe blocks when I try to choose the option datacard... with an error in MFC70.dll. I contacted the helpdesk but they couldn't help me out. I installed all windows updates and removed, reinstalled VMC 7.0 but still the same prob ...

Was there a solution for this inconvenietn problem ?

thanks

AFAIK VMC v7 is not the recommended version for use with Option data cards - last I looked on vodacom.co.za, v6 was listed for Option and v7 for Novatel.

Thx, I ment that I made a choice between mobile phone and pc card, after that I received an error. The datacard I uses was an Huawei. I use now the software of Huawei and that works fine, but I still don't know why I can't use the VMC solution.

AFAIK v7 fully supports all the cards. Not sure why we've got such a confusing layout. Have asked the guys to make it more logical.
