Voice calling price comparison – WhatsApp vs Facebook vs Skype

No FaceTime? I'm sure FaceTime has a larger user base than some of those in the article.

question for the journos,

assuming you didnt buy a data voucher, just for a call, as is often the case.
how much would the prices change then?

using OOB data that is, how much would it cost you then?

You may be right, but that includes international users.

In SA there are a lot more Android users than iOS users, so in that context it makes sense to have left Facetime out of this comparison.

Update:

Facetime seems to be using the HE-AAC codec for voice, which can use up to 3MB of data for a 5-minute call.

I have stopped using Skype for VOIP since Microsoft broke the CallerID feature.

Microsoft was the worst thing that could have happened to Skype - it's now useless.

Now using Vox Vobi, works just fine.

For my friends, of course, I use WhatsApp.

Does anyone have an idea about the usage/cost using Facetime?
I find this one to be the best when available.

Also it would be nice to know which codecs are being used. What about video calling and the difference between droid and IOS?
