VOIP on MTN?

Could someone please let me know whether one can use voip services such as skype on MTN and whether MTN will charge you extra for these calls on ones data card.

Check their Terms and Conditions of data usage... They'll charge you R23.xx/pm if you use VOIP. Wether they actually do charge you or not is to be seen.

Yep, they basically reserve the right to charge you more for VOIP, should they see fit at any time. According to the reps, they don't charge for VOIP. IMO -->YET<--
