VoIP's competitive edge in the age of WhatsApp

The benefit of using a cloud-based voice over IP provider lies in the value that they can deliver beyond the ability to make a call, Euphoria managing director Warren Hawkins tells MyBroadband.

"For businesses, it's about features and functionality like call dispositioning, which allows you to track how a call went, whether queries were resolved, and next steps, if any," Hawkins explains.

I think the partner content label was forgotten on this one.

The thing that I find is some many offices have unmanaged networks and run there VoIP on it, coupled with bad quality VoIP service.
Leads to call of such horrible quality it sounds like a tin can at best and speaking from bottom of a pool at worse, I miss half of what they trying to say.

G729 sounds like garbage compared to WhatsApp/FaceTime Audio... other than a call center or sales team, who actually uses a landline everyday post covid?

Also, MyBB seems to be disrespectful with these covert shills.

Use Opus on VoIP.

Must say that WhatsApp/Signal/Telegram calls have improved and sound great.
Also WhatsApp/Signal/Telegram can do messages and video.

Of course some of us don't use WhatsApp so it is not going to reach everyone like SMS/RCS does (well RCS in the future).

Most VoIP tech is too outdated for the modern internet. Most of the codecs used by VoIP providers are 20+ years old.

Totally outperformed by modern codecs like Opus, that need minimal network management in order to function properly.
