Does iburst allow setting up vpn connections. I'm trying to set one up now and I'm not having any luck.

Also, does anyone know of some other software that can be used to setup vpns besides the built in windows software?

VPN via Iburst

I have had no problem with VPN to UK servers, I currently live in SA and work from home for a UK based company. Access to the servers is just as if I was in the office.

It all depends on what you have on the other side as to what method you use for VPN. Previously I had a 3com firewall at the office server and I used the 3com VPN client software to bypass the firewall and put me on the local network. Lately I have scrapped the 3com firewall and replaced it with Windows based stuff. Remote desktop works fine too. Servers using Windows 2003 have some very good VPN tools.

Can say the same, I have no problem connecting to my clients via vpn and working on their problems. Currently I am connected to one of my clients servers via vpn and have no problems what so ever. Setting the connection up is simple via windows connections. After connecting to my clients i usually connect with remote desktop connection without any problem. What problem is it giving you ?

VPN Connection through iburst

Fergus, I was playing with some VPN software, it all depends on what you have running on the other side. I played with a Linux based vpn, called Open VPN(need to be clued-up on Linux) and then there is always a windows based product called Wingate VPN. Personally, I have tested WinGate VPN on Iburst and works, but due to me running a cisco firewall solution at the office I opted to upgrade my pix code and utilise the built-in VPN on my firewall, works like a charm.

The linux product is OpenVpn and it has a Windows based client and server as well. What problem exactly is it giving you , because I do use it over Iburst
