Mugabe counts as one of your great leaders?

Well that explains a whole lot!
It's sarcasm

Btw, would you have preferred he idolise Hitler or Stalin; 2 figures worse than Mugabe was (Mugabe was a terrible human being)?

You do know the NP government inherited Segregation from the British?
Yes they did, and expanded it.
Verwoerd wanted to do something different, more humane, than what the British had.

He suggested Bantustans, where black folk can, at their own pace, develop into self sustaining countries....and then he got assissinated.

He is one of my Afrikaner heroes.

And yes, he was a non-racialist.
This explains a lot. I have a clearer picture about some of your opinions after reading this.

Rofl, Verwoerd was a white supremacist?!

Anyways, the salute is the Roman Salute, the eagle is called the Reichsasdler (derived from the Roman eagle standard) and the swastika that came from Buddhism.

Every single of these symbols have completely different meanings depending on the context and culture it is being used in.
Funny thing is, there is no evidence the romans actually had a salute

Do you know what it means to put something in inverted commas? You know..." "?

It was another form of visual sarcasm. As in: They were "great" (they really weren't) leaders...worked it out now?

Verwoerd did implement a better version....it was called Apartheid!

There are lots of reason why they did not abolish the whole thing. If you read the history of the Afrikaner you will understand why.

I stand by my statement because my definition of racism and non-racialist, differs like day differs from night to those of yours.
Yes...it worked out well for us, don't you think? Economically cut off from the rest of the world. Cut off from the rest of the world in terms of sports. Seen as a pariah state.

Man, you're some kind of "special" aren't you...

South Africa was a threat to the establishment and had to be dealt with before it become too powerful, that is why the World turned its back on South Africa.

Apartheid was just the stick they used to beat NP government with.

Well, you've nailed that little flag of yours to the mast. Defending the indefensible.

Over and out. No need to lower myself to the level you're at.

They weren't. Sportsmen lost out competing at the highest level (of all colours!). Economically we were pariahs. Economically we suffered.
In terms of race, where that fool could have taken the moral high ground and tried to do something to fix what the British started, he took it to a whole new level and subsequent fools kept the status quo in place.
We can never know what we could've become. Instead, look what we deal with now.

You must be so proud of what was achieved.../s

Your biggest mistake is ignoring the history and also to look at it in regards to what we consider as "wrong" today.

It was a completely different time, with a completely different set of rules, world views and perspectives.

Judging the people of that time on today's standards are just plain dumb.

And yes, I am extremely proud of all the accomplishments of my people during this time.

No...what was accomplished for the country. Attempted misdirection doesn't work.

And you can judge people like Verwoed. They will be judged for an eternity by history. History cannot be rewritten no matter how much you type here.

They were as morally bankrupt then as the ANC is today.

That might not even be a salute. It could very well mean they're reaching for the 3 swords that other guy seems to be holding with much reverence.
Most definitely a probability...most historians do not even think the Romans HAD a salute...the Nazis just stole ideas everywhere and made **** up.

But the depiction of the Column of Trajan does look a lot like the/ salute...so who knows?
