Is your set up like this?

So I've got the same white Huawei box, but then goes into a Nokia ONT like this one.

And my router gets connected with the ethernet to the Nokia ONT, and that goes to the Hauwei termination point. (sorry I'm not getting the terminology right :p )

So that's with Telkom right? I'm with Afrihost and perhaps it's ISP dependent?
Someone on the forum suggested it was area dependant, probably depends also on service selection, stock availability and so forth. Usually OS does nokia, huawei, Alcatel ONTs that are modems as well and provision the ports as per clients configuration.

This nokia device is the ont

With openserve your ont doesnt handle pppoe connection anymore like vumawack

Your own router or isp supplied router handles pppoe connection eliminating the issue with double nat and port forwarding cra

Plus for those of you we hectic security gear can setup firewall Router as main router then pass on intenet over dynamic ip to aps or another router

Not forgetting since you have OS and VumaReach at your house you can get a Ubiquity Edge 4 and loadbalance so if either on go down you will still have internet access

Os even though they have their days is still better that whats being served to the rest of us via vumakek

I pray openserve deploy next year we need everyone to show interest on their website
