Glass half empty or full?Response from my sub-council manager.![]()
I sent your link to all my buddies that side and all of them was glad to receive and send it on... I hope it helps your causeThe glass doesn't exist.
Thanks a ton bud. The google form I made was rather weird since a some replies were from areas already on the rollout map hahaha but I added them nonetheless.I sent your link to all my buddies that side and all of them was glad to receive and send it on... I hope it helps your cause
bru you just need to turn the micthells fibre kak ont wifi off then plug your own router to one of the lan ports on the micthells fibre ont and login to your own router and change your connection to WAN on your router, set to Automatic IP, set IPv to IPv4/IPv6 and hit ok/apply and connect to your wifi, and ifnyou unable to turn off the wifi on the mitchells plain device thats fine just dont use it and use your own router wifi. Also note some devices does not support bridging@Nikkel - disabling wifi (WLAN) did not do the trick, I am still stuck with the same options...sigh
Quick one, can you confirm that your ONT's model is EG8245H5 with software version V5R019C00S105.
I cannot even download the config from the router nor see any "admin" like setting.
This should be a simple task yet it's proving to be impossible right about now.
As always, Thank you once again for your time.
You do realize that Mitchells Fibre is a Private Business , Involving government bodies etc etc wont help in any way , Its up to Mitchells Fibre aka Vumatel to decide when and where they want to rollout Fibre. The only way for you to win is to gather the numbers they want to see provide visual information to them via email and hope for the best that they actually take you seriously , this is just my adviceGlass half empty or full?
I have zero problem with that if gathering the numbers were the truth. Mitchells Fibre Facebook page went live on 5 June, on 3 July @Nikkel posted an image on this thread. If you take a look you can see every area that is currently on the map was already added. Between that 5 June and 3 July have a look at the number of posts they made on Facebook, the amount of comments or shares. Yes I do understand word of mouth has to be taken into account as well but simply it doesn't make sense to me. Every single area was added in that short period of time. I'd understand if say a few areas were added and the rest were added at a slighty later stage but seriously it just doesn't add up. Even you made mention of this, I noticed you commented on one of their earliest Facebook posts and made mention that you only have one other neighbour in your road with ADSL and had a problem in educating people on this fibre malarkey, there are 4 households in my small road alone that's connected to Comtel. Like I said this interest thing is a whole lot of bullcrap, I could get 1000 sign ups from Eastridge and they'd still not come out.You do realize that Mitchells Fibre is a Private Business , Involving government bodies etc etc wont help in any way , Its up to Mitchells Fibre aka Vumatel to decide when and where they want to rollout Fibre. To be fair, MF mentioned that they will only roll out, if there is enough interest from residents. If that was the case, then they have not acted within that, in order to see if it's viable or not. Many areas where they are currently laying Fibre, have not shown interest, that I can guarantee you. They have clearly identified areas not to lay Fibre, either through security concerns, or they believe that the Interest in those areas will not be worth the time. You do realize that Mitchells Fibre is a Private Business , Involving government bodies etc etc wont help in any way , Its up to Mitchells Fibre aka Vumatel to decide when and where they want to rollout Fibre. have you tried my solution? That does not work pal, Like i said in my previous post - I have disabled wifi but I do not get any other options under the WAN settings besides basic info as per my attached image, so I cannot set the ONT into bridge mode to allow my router to do the dialling.
On your own router, WAN should also be set to DHCP as I've heard.
Yep I think my case is a bit different to yours... MF router still does the "dialling" and mine basically used as AP via WANThat does not work pal, Like i said in my previous post - I have disabled wifi but I do not get any other options under the WAN settings besides basic info as per my attached image, so I cannot set the ONT into bridge mode to allow my router to do the dialling.

Seems I got it wrong... He had an Ubiquiti Edgerouter...Zone 2.
That speed test I posted was with my EdgeRouter load balancing between the Fibre and my ADSL.
Here is the speedtest from the Fibre Router itself:
