I don't get it, Afrihost is your SP, so it's up to them if they want to give you the speed you want as they support it. This MF is just bull coming with limited speeds, give people what they want and don't force people because of the service in that area.I ordered a 100Mbps Vuma line 2 days ago. I just received a call from Mitchells Fibre to schedule a date to install a 20Mbps line. The person from MF insisted that they only do 20Mbps and that Vuma is not them. But the order number that I received from Afrihost correspond with my 100Mbps order.
I tried calling Afrihost, but I cannot wait 40 minutes in a queue - reminds me of Hellkom. Facebook Messenger also no response. A response to email will probably take a day or 2 like my queries of last week.
Can an Afrihost rep assist please.

@tubbz its best to contact Afriman or one of the other reps direct. they don't read all the posts in forums.I ordered a 100Mbps Vuma line 2 days ago. @AfriMan quite a few of us interested in 100mb lines.
Couldn't have said it better. This decision was made based on the research of what the current usage of internet is in Mitchells Plain. This wasn't just some pity sale to the poor areas, but a clever injection into a rather large area meaning good business for them later. Once they have a hold of the area as ppl transition away from ADSL and LTE then they can start offering the rest of their packages. It has to be because very few people will sign up for 20/10 fibre at Vuma's current prices.
Also the price of the cheaper 8 or 10 speed lines are inline with what people are paying for their ADSL or LTE contracts, why move to something else when I am already paying that price? They had to sweeten the deal.
I know of a lot of my family members who are pissed off that they cant get 20/10 for 400 a month the same would cost in access of 800 to 900 rand.

I think this is for the sake of simplicity.. this is a rather large rollout so there's plenty that they are investing in it already. I for one am already just surprised this happened at all. I just expected our areas to always be ignored and never get FTTH.So why not offer everyone the R399 package, but also give the more fortunate folks the opportunity to apply for faster speeds at the same time. I think this makes more sense then forcing everyone to be stuck with 20mb/s lines.
People who already have faster speeds on a different platform would feel they downgrading instead of being offered a more superior product.
I hope MF, not Madderfakkersand Pure Afrihost takes note of the public needs

@AfriMan we need some clarity please as there is quite a few of us interested in 100mb lines.
Mitchell's Plain are the more lower income group. Other areas should just fall under Vuma.I'll need to get further info on this. I am guessing that Vuma may be referring installations in certain areas to MF. Will confirm.
