He is saying the same thing - just different words.

MF is owned by VUMA, but they are treated as separate companies, with MF having exclusive domain over Mitchell's Plain. Vuma may have decided to include Mitchell's PLain on their coverage map to ensure that people who are confused are still able to get signed up in the end. But the message is any subscribers in Mitchell's Plain can only be on Mitchell's Fibre.

You are basically saying that we can not sign up for a higher package?

I have no idea why people are complaining so much, ATLEAST there IS Fibre. If you cannot live with 20mb line then LEAVE IT you not FORCED to take it. My goodness, a small win is better than no win.

go away

Easy to say "go away"... but for the majority of us... getting fibre in MP is a huge win...

We just have to keep the pressure up to get the speeds increased which i think will come... the more people sign up the better the ROI for Vuma... the faster they give us more speed.... so go promote.

I do get it though. If you can get a higher speed, I'll definitely give it a shot. sadly we can't help right now, but we'll totally fight that battle for you to try and get higher speeds if we can.

Yeah, it's just a time thing. When MF/Vuma see that uptake is good and they can recover their costs, then it's only in their interests to let people upgrade later on. My 2c, but don't quote me (yet).

Yes, but is it realistic to expect a company forking out billions to get a community who would otherwise be overlooked a service a small percent would only go for? These companies are not doing it out of the goodness of their hearts.

I am not disputing that people would not go for higher speed but once we get to that bridge there will be more complaints... 'why is it more expensive, why we getting a different router, why why why...'

Thanks you sir... I'm beginning to get annoyed by some of the complaints as well

Should be better performance than ADSL - and more reliable.
And what if you already have a 40mb/s vdsl line, then you basically downgrading right.

Some people will always expect crumbs while others who's got vision always have the best at their disposal. Can't help it if I'm born with.

So Afriman, the other areas will also be sucked to 20mb/s.

Everything in Mitchell's Plain will be covered by Mitchell's Fibre and the products they offer (unless another operator becomes active).

I am confident that the offers will be revised in due time.
