Actually Hikvisions major issue is their lacklustre performance in fixing vulnerabilities even after being alerted.And quite easy to secure if you have a vaguely competent networking department. Most the Hikvision vulnerabilities seem to be from very outdated firmware, on public IPs and default settings (but then you can say that for SO much connected hardware); 3 things I'd expect to be secured by someone specializing in IP CCTV.
Can't think of too many well known firms who's products have scored a perfect 10 CVE
