I think Vicki Momberg would suggest you paint the pole white?

Will post when I get a chance.

I will have to get the community together on this one.
That argument doesn't make sense when they are digging trenches in the richer areas and erecting big black poles in the middle/lower middle class areas.

Waiting for your post of pics. Sounds like you trying to cause shyte. Seriously, we are all immunized to telephone/light/whatever poles. Does anyone even notice this stuff; ever?

I live in a “larney” area with Vuma poles everywhere. You eventually realize that the value of having Fibre outweighs the ugliness of the poles.

Like others have said, I’d rather have Fibre than crappy copper.

Besides the property value. It is absolutely hideous. They dug trenches in the upper class areas such as Northcliff, Linden, Sandton etc. But they seem to be erecting these monstrosities in the lower middle class areas.

I know they took them down in Westdene when the residents complained, I'm just hoping our community can get together and have them taken down.

Sophiatown not Westdene. The whole of Westdene is trenched.

This alos happened in Magaliessig. Ugly and dangerous gumpoles were suddenly put up along the sidewalks for aerial fibre. Resident's Association found out that a council wayleave to erect the poles was granted without doing a public participation exercise. Residents were not informed or consulted. The erectors were forced to take them down.
So, check that the correct procedures were followed. First notices and public participation with allowance for objections. Second that a council wayleave was granted and that the fibre company has complied with its conditions. If not they must take down.
