Vumatel/Cool Ideas - previous tenant didn't cancel now I'm stuck

So we had 3 glorious goes of internet and then the line was turned off. Waited for the new router in case it was a configuration error and nope, no internet available. In the meantime I'm being debited for two inactive lines - the cancelled one that doesn't work, and the new one that doesn't work. So I'm paying R2000 a month to not have internet, along with R1000 a month for mobile data.

I had such high hopes yesterday. I'm finding it hard to blame this on Vumatel right now.
Alright, as per PM, Monique will discuss with you. You won't be billed for the new line for Jan, and we will add a credit on your account for the 5 days that it wasn't working.

Towards the end of December I enquired again. No they said, there is a form to fill in and its past 25th December so we cannot do anything. Sent off form on 3rd Jan. No response

This month its the same. "The cancellation has not been processed"

I'm going through a similar thing. I've moved into a new place and the previous tenant used Cool Ideas. We applied with RSAWEB but they have an issue with Cool Ideas refusing to release the line due to the previous tenant still owing money.

What happens if the old tenant doesn't settle their account as they have already moved?

So we are forced to install a new ONT as Cool Ideas will only release the line at the end of the month.

Let your current ISP submit the release.

Vuma will release the line if the old tenant left.

That doesn't make sense as we requested early release with Frogfoot.
