This following issue occurred while setting up my Wifi Router provided to me from my ISP.

I am a WebAfrica client so I dont if it is the case with all ISP's.

After Vumatel installed my Fiber I was asked to connect my Laptop to the CEP device to test the connection.

It seems Vumatel assigns one valid IP or mac address to your premises, So in my case it was my laptop.

So if I connected any other device to my CEP e.g. another laptop I could not get internet access.

So after I received my Wifi router from my ISP I clould not get internet access on the router.

I fixed this issue by cloning my laptop mac to the Wifi router under the Network section on the Router settings.

I am not sure and you can probably ask Vumatel to reset the Mac\IP address assigned to you and the follow the steps as noted below.

In my case it was already after 08:00 pm and I clould not get hold of Vumatel or WebAfrica because it was out of trading hours.

Note: If you already have a Wifi Router Plug the router in first to the CEP and connect Laptop to the Wifi router then you should not get the issue.

Or just ask your ISP to release the DHCP lease, and allow your router to re-establish it.

^This

I had my MikroTik connected on port 1 of the CPE and my MacBook on port 2 of the CPE while we were troubleshooting an issue. They just released the DHCP Lease on my macbook when we were done.
