Where exactly in Hannes Louw was the barrier going up. I drive that way every morning and didn't notice.

So received an invite this morning from VUMATEL to attend the Town Hall meeting at Panorama Primary School on Wednesday the 7th February 2018 @ 7pm.
Now we are moving forward.

Have no idea. I can assume that the lay out their rollout plan and assure the residents that they will fix our sidewalks to the way it was before they trenched.

So, went to the meeting this evening and it was the usual. Explaining who Vumatel was and how they will connect the homes in the area. The guy gave a start date of early March for the Civil works to begin and expects the entire area to be lit up by end of April.

Did they mention which areas exactly or where they're starting?

The areas are Welgelegen, Panorama, Parow North, De Tijger. They have already started with Welgelegen and Panorama and as their teams become available they will move them to our areas.

No mention of exactly where they start, but their plan is 4 weeks for trenching.

According to Vumatel's website, the fibre build is in progress in this area. Anyone seen any movement in respect of the roll-out yet?

I got an email today from our HOA stating vuma will be starting with us, De Tijger Estate, and the neighbouring "The Islands" complex, with trenching maps and box mounting locations. They're estimating completion by end March.

So after hearing nothing from Vuma, I contacted them via their Facebook page and apparently they have hit a bit of a set back.
They hope to start in April 2018. At this rate they will only be done by May 2018. So much for hoping for a speedy installation. The rain will probably come before Vuma does.

So what happens if I missed the door-to-door vumatel person? I must not have been home. The plans show my wallbox on a really bad place.

Apparently Vumatel guys will engage with you once they start with the build to clarify the position of the wallbox. I met with the door to door persons from vumatel and they did not mention anything about the position of the wallbox.

Where exactly did you see the plans for the position of the wallbox?

I got the plans in communication from our HOA.

The door-to-door people also had the plans and could show you. (But you had to ask very nicely and offer them a cup of tea or a beer first because they left them locked in the car because "no-one ever asks us that question".)

But don't hold your breath - from experience with another property, they don't always put the box where they plan to put it, nor send out the communication so that you would know when to be home. So expect it to just appear at an unlikely location out of the blue one day
