Selected an initial package but since changed my mind. Even necessary to try change with vuma? Do they call you to confirm order first?

I contacted Vuma about this previously, if you did it through the Vuma interface you'd have to cancel with the old ISP and contact Vuma to confirm they received cancellation, you will then be able to proceed with the new ISP.

Maybe contact your preferred ISP and ask them if they can sort out all the admin for you?

Received a mailer informing us that installations will begin soon :cool::

Exciting times ahead!
VUMA is happy to announce that the scheduling of in-home fibre installations will begin within the next 2 weeks.
IMPORTANT: VUMA works on a first come first served basis. We encourage you to get into the installation queue early so that you can be the first to change the way you experience the internet.

I'm further north toward Bruma. Vuma installed poles months ago but no one is connected. Verified when I tried to do an online application.

Thinking of going with either Rocket or Accelerit.

Sounds like you were part of the Cyrildene rollout. When did you order?

Vuma sent another mailer advising installations have started a week ago, I have seen a few people mention they are live already in the Kensington Facebook group.

My order is still in a pending state on their site, waiting as patiently as I can :p

My dads east, my moms north, my sisters south, and I am west, all within Kensington coverage zone. I read that kensington page, dont believe installations have commenced just yet, maybe another week

Some people have been installed since the end of April and installations have definitely started but they're in batches. What I recommend if you haven't already done so, preorder on sp.vumatel.co.za for the same order you've submitted via your ISP. Vumatel will link your preorder to the preorder you've made with your ISP and give you an indication of where your address is in the rollout.

For the past few weeks I've been in the "Expression of Interest" state which as per Vumatel means: "you are not in the current batch of installations but our scheduling team will contact you when we start scheduling your batch".

My status has recently changed to "Status: Pending ISP Application. Installation Status: On Hold - Order Validation" and I see a work order has been assigned to my preorder which I'm guessing means my ISP needs to take some sort of action before I can expect a call from their installs team...

Also something I find interesting is that we seem to have been marked live on their maps ahead of Observatory, I think this is in part due to how much our community wants to ditch Telkom in favour of fibre :p

Applied for 100/10 on the cool ideas website, within an hour my Vumatel status changed from pending ISP application, to pending installation, and I had a nice love letter from cool ideas in my mail. Vumatel called me exactly 24 hours later, 8:30 AM today and scheduled me in for 11:30 Monday

Awesome! I initially preordered with WebAfrica but I've since decided to go with Cool Ideas aswell. I've had to change my preorder on the Vumatel site which has changed my order status back to "Expression of interest" so I'll need to wait a little longer :/

Let us know how it goes.

They arrived 45 minutes early, took 1.5 hours. Install complete and my status changed to Pending ONT Discovery, I wonder how long this will take.
