Vumatel launches speed upgrade promotion

I’m more interested in Afrihost’s new Vumatel pricing, do we get that email today?

New and existing clients will qualify. Existing clients will not be switched to the new prices automatically but can change their package to the new prices in ClientZone. If existing clients choose to downgrade to a lower speed the double speed promo will fall away so it's best to schedule any downgrades to the new lower prices after the double speed promo end on the 13th of September or at least get the downgrades submitted before the 21st of August 2022.

Yes. I can't speak for other ISP's but these are the changes we are making.

Vumatel will at least double the line speeds for most of its fibre customers until at least the end of January next year on a promotional basis.

How long does it take to for your line speed to get upgraded to the double deal from Vuma on the Afrihost network? The https://shop.vumatel.co.za/ speed test shows 50/50 and on MyBB speedtest its still on 20/20 ?

Yeah i think it's permanent as well. @websquadza 's ftth page for vumatel started showing new pricing for the packages instead of the old pricing that had "double speed promo" attached to them

Afrihost 200 megs is that price, with the promo it's 500 megs. But I'm with Cool Ideas at R1149 on the same promo which is still cheaper than OS...

I posted a thread with price comparison, as ISP rep on the forum confirmed recently that the speed change is permanent via an PM. I promised the rep I would update the price comparison thread when it becomes official. It seems we will see new prices being announced. I think the ISPs is taking a wait and see approach.

Guessing if you subscribe now, you're subbing to the new speed + price as Afrihost mentioned they were now permanent and not the promo as that was for existing customers

Morning,

The pricing on the website is the new prices already including the double speed promo which is actually permanent. This means if you are taking a 200Mbps speed on the website now it's 200Mbps and not doubled to 500Mbps as we have already asjusted the pricing and speeds accordingly.
