They had just marked our road this week. I see Blue for water and I assume red for power.
Ah I thought those are the routes they wanted to trench . I'm in the Moseley area btw, I cant believe I didn't see this tread before!

I wonder what they mean by "intimidation by various groups", is it not just people trying to steal their equipment?

No, it's these mafia style "business forums" that want to be given work by force or the contractor to pay them a huge fee for doing nothing.

Well its a bit simpler than that really...

They want to be given the work for an exorbitant fee and then to do nothing....

Not so simple, if you want your infrastructure on the ground, you pay them or else you lose out on potential customers.

I was being ever so slightly sarcastic.. :)

I know how it runs.... and as far as I'm concerned, the fsckers should be in jail already.

I see in the timeslive article vumatel confirmed it was multiple business forums that have been the cause.

I received a message from vumatel yesterday:

"Good day
We are currently working on the situation at hand and plans to move forward with Laying of cables are put in place . We are waiting for the outcome as we speak so as soon as i have an answer I will let you know."

Is there anyone here that lives in a complex?

Received today:

I trust that this message finds you well.

Construction is still on hold until further notice.

Negations are currently still taking place and Vumatel is not willing to take an risks on any of our sites where our staff or community members could be affected.

Kind regards

I think the watches should step in here as well. I know ours is tied closely with the Malvern Station, we should band together and help the construction crews and call in the SAPS when it get hot. Charge the swines and let them rot.

What are they whining about??
Apparently one of the work crews hit a power main, there have been a couple of incidents. The muni took two days to resolve. They also like to complain about the copper and wifi speed a lot at the same time these guys are trying to install fibre to make it better.

Somedays, a bunch of curmudgeons :D
