What does the Vumatel POP look like? I saw a big cabinet being setup on the corner of Booysen Rd and Heath Rd, which is closer than club kenya.

Proper pop is bigger. Takes up a room in a fixed location with independent power supplies. You are most likely seeing a distribution hub.

Hi
Anybody have any idea when Moseley (near the Northdene School) is going live, I have an orange cable still sticking up in the air with no wall box. Very keen to get this installed. Grump_grouch where about are you?
According to one of the Vuma Reps, Moseley should be live by mid November.

I've got a bonded LTE config running at the mo that hums nicely and works out cheaper than the fibre for me so not yet. Think because my property is long lengthwise against the road , they added two in case of subdivision.

My LTE worked out WAY cheaper than the fibre I'm paying for (actually 50% less).. but I was running into the FUP limits by the 25th of each month...so just made sense to upgrade to fibre and remove that little headache.

One of the LTE are still contract, got 8 months to go so will re-visit then. Nice thing is, I've expanded my setup to allow up to 4 WANs so my choices are very broad.

Want to take over my stupidly priced "Uncapped LTE"? (I'm so very loath to cancel it because its so damned cheap)

Hi Guys/Gals

Just wanted to check with anybody in the area. I have applied for Cool Ideas 50/5 fibre line. Anybody else using them in this area and how has it been. Seems like they have been having a few issues latley, seems to be in JHB area but just wanted to touch base and see if any issues.

Also anybody have any more info on when Moseley will be lit up??

Have had zero issues with Cool Ideas - it just works. Been using them for about a month and a half now with no downtime or slowdowns. Very happy customer.

Sorry to ask again, but anybody in the Moseley area know when the service will go live? Heard middle of November (which has gone) then got a call from the Cell C fibre (still not going to use them) guys and he said 2nd week in December. Do these guys also have a network freeze period, if so then we might only be getting fibre in the middle to end of Jan 2019.

They're busy with the main boxes by the looks of it. Lots of work still being done in main road as well. Not sure of a network freeze but I wouldn't be surprised.

From Vumatel regarding Civils:
"Excavation deadline - 15 November, Reinstatement deadline 15 December, 2019 Civil start 9 January"

Regarding Installations:

"All installs done by Vuma's contractors. Our installations dont shut down, we work through December. The process changed slightly to where you now choose your isp and package before installation, so you can do that so long anyway. Some isps will deliver your router beforehand to make sure you can be surfing right away."

Remember guys, the preorder system changed recently. You will need to do a new preorder in most cases. You need to make a preorder on the coverage map, then select the ISP package you want.
