Vumatel or Aenova360 for FTTH installation?

Being the Chairman of my complex I was recently approached by Vumatel and a company called FibreOps (subcontracted by Aeonova360) to do a fibre installation for the complex.
Both companies also came out and did a site survey/inspection and have sent me their individual site installation plans (I can provide pictures from the installation plans if necessary).

The FibreOps(Aeonova360) installation is definitely the neater of the two where they basically plan to interconnect with the underground DFA infrastructure that runs directly across the road.
They then install a "fibre box" and "2 x 1:16 splitter units" in the guard house at the main entrance. From there they do what they call "micro-trenching" and run the cables to the various units underground to an outside splitter box between two units in pairs.

Vumatel on the other hand does a rather "cheap and nasty" installation where they simply hang the cable over the road via lamp poles and then run it along the top of our boundary wall with access points to each unit.
The concern I have here is that we've had two occasions this year where someone has driven through our boundary wall and if we had Vumatel fibre running on top of the wall at the time, it would have broken the fibre as well.

Since I'm sort of the most tech-savvy person in the complex the other Trustees are now looking to me to advise them on which installer we should use.

Vumatel (Fibrehoods) has been around for a while and have been rolling out at a rapid pace however I've heard both good and bad stories about their installations and support.

Even though I'm leaning towards FibreOps/Aeonova360 I can't say I've heard much about them at all so I'm still very much on the fence.

Help please...:)

Can't you engage Vumatel with (counter) proposal on how to go about doing their installation?

Will Aeonova360 allow you to use ay ISP or at least a list of prefered ones Like Vuma?
As for their reputation, IIRC DFA is finicky on who gets access to their cables so you may not know them but If DFA lets them splice I doubt they fly by night.
Also check what they will charge for each units access point? I know Vuma charges the ISP R1700 and then they intern either charge you the full or a portion of that.

From the information I received we're free to use any ISP we desire.

Thanks. Good to know.

Well for those like myself who sign up during the initial install, the entire installation is apparently free.
From what I understand it completely depends on the ISP (and the varying terms and conditions) that the individual/unit chooses that will determine the connection fee. Did I understand your question correctly?

Haha lekker.

Well they've committed to finishing the entire installation before end of November...they're just waiting for us to give them an official go-ahead.

It would be epic to have fibre up and running before the festive season.

Looks liek If Vuma not willing to go the route and installation you want for your complex, then the other guy may be the option

The estate I stay in has Aeonova360. They do a proper installation BUT they use GPON for their fibre where Vuma does not.

So you need to confirm from A360 if the OLT's start getting congested which they will trust me are they willing to install more OLT's.

Aeonova360 is open access and Cool Ideas and Level 7 that I know of but their own network is for me THE BEST I have ever used. Uncapped Unshaped Unthrottled bandwidth 24/7 I know this because when I pushed 5TB of data on my 100Mbps line with them they were more worried if I'm experiencing good speeds than the amount of data that I used.

Vumatel trenched our complex - fairly neatly too. However, it was part of a suburb rollout?

Go for Vumatel, or talk to SADV or even MFN. All these companies are true open access and know what they are doing with proper funding. Tell them you arent happy with the proposed method im sure they will change it.

A360 got 1 or 2 complexes who knows how long they will be in business, they dont seems to have much info about anything. Be wary of secretive companies

I won't be surprised if A360 has more coverage than SADV or MFN yet you recommend them.... They are pretty decent and totally open access.

That said Vuma is a better option as they don't use GPON so congestion issues on the technology used and also currently they offer 200Mbps which others don't
