Vumatel have bought the fiber backbone infrastructure from SA Digital Village. Since they have taken over the service has deteriorated to an alarming extent. It is so bad that Vumatel cannot transfer a connection from one ISP to another within a period of 7, yes 7 days. They have also, in order to keep themselves isolated from irate consumers, also discontinued their help desk call centre.
Not sure why Vumatel would want to go into a business where they obviously do not have the capability or the will to actually provide a service.

Who is your new ISP? You should be able to escalate.

I hoped that after the nightmare of Telkom's ADSL monopoly things would get better but alas we've replaced one set of useless fu*** with another. MWEB sent them the needed docs to clear my line on 7 June. Heading into the third week with no changes, no reply from them to MWEB. On Friday someone from Vumatel DMd me here on mybb and I sent him my details, same on Twitter. Still no progress.
