True true, but you can't tell me it's as brainless as a 90 minute vuvuzela sound.

Nothing could be more brainless than chanting we are the champs when you are not. Running onto the field naked and tackling guys prior to landing match winning tries or assaulting refs is also part of the fan culture. This excludes the hobby of racially abusing fans at stadiums like Loftus which has been well documented in the media. No you're right, rugby is the paragon of South African fan culture...

What gives you the faintest idea I condone that as well? And what has it got to do with vuvuzelas?

I don't run around naked on a field or cause k@k at loftus. The same as if I brought a vuvu to the stadium I would only use it during moments of cheer.

So, all you vuvuzela-bashing experts, contracted any diseases yet? Hearing loss a problem already? :D

What's that? Oh sorry, I can't hear you! ;)

And 1.5 million European sales at the last count! You've got a long way to go... and it is far easier to click "like" than it is to buy something.

Orly? Can I see a link of those SALES figures? That's awsome for the Chinese..

FFS people are killed during soccer hooligan nonsense overseas and people are hurt during rubbish antics at rugby. Why in the blue freak do you think because I dislike the way the vuvuzela is used that I condone that? What is up with your logic seriously???????????????????

The logic is simple. You assume that footie fans are primitive neanderthals by virtue of a ****ing trivial vuvuzela which the WORLD is beginning to adopt. I seriously dont get what you are actually arguing against here. I mean who are football authorities like Sepp Blatter in the grander scheme of things compared to your opinion on football right..

I don't give a hoot how many overseas vuvus have been purchased. I don't care what they do in Italy and Brazil. I don't even care much about the vuvuzela itself. Right now all focus is on the Soccer World Cup and to me the people using them the way they do be it White Black Coloured Indian Chinese Blue Pink Orange are spoiling it. That is all that matters. We can debate Rugby antics and other countries and other sports I don't really watch when focus is on them.

When did I say that? Forgive me if I did say that in anger but don't recall

Might I mention I thinkn an idiot at a rugby match who wants to stir nonsense and cause harm to other good people is also a neanderthal in my mind. I meet lots of those types in pubs too. They are worthless.

But anyway this has nothing to do with the WC and the vuvuzela once again.

Can we at least agree that broadcasters should be coming to the party so as not to diminish the fan culture?

Firstly I don't know if that is the rugby culture you mentioned just earlier. I have not noticed that as part of the culture but am not a very big Rugby fan either so maybe you are right. Usually to me the local rugby culture is all about the beer and braai and having a good time cheering your team with your mates.

Well I don't know if there is much they can do other than try tamper the sound a bit for the tele which I get the impression they have been doing sometimes because now and then I do hear the sound on SABC changing to favour the commentator but not sure if thats just my imagination.

I still think we could have a better fan culture though but even the vuvuzelas are great to use and hear at times so there is nothing wrong with it per say (per se).
