As a word of caution, wife had 2 golf 7 dsg's out of the box. First one turbo had issues at 8000kms, clutch was replaced at 12000kms and at 25000kms the actual gearbox had to be replaced. After a long fight vw relented and she was given a new car. Replacement started giving the same trouble at 10000kms so we sold it off and got something other than a vw.
What was the "same trouble"?
Turbo going at 8000km tells me it's a thermal issue with heat cycling. Does wifey start it and then smashes it? Was this her first Turbo car? If not, how long did the previous one last?
I'm not saying you didn't get a lemon, it happens, but I also agree that it seems highly unlikely that two would fail in a row with the exact same symptoms.
What did you end up buying? A non-turbo?
