Hi all

So I have a VW Polo Vivo 1.4, it's time for its 75000km service, and I want to take it to the place with the best service, and if there is a price difference that will help to. Anyone have experience with both Lindsay Saker and Hatfield, specifically VW Lindsay Saker Fourways and VW Hatfield Bryanston?

How would you rate them against each other? In my mind I still have the faint memory of Lindsay Saker Fourway's one mechanics who took someone's RS4 and Polo GTI that were in for service and wrote off the Audi, makes me wonder how they will treat something worth much less like my Polo.

Any feedback on these two will be appreciated especially if you have been to both.

I have always had a great experience with Hatfield VW Bryanston services department. So much so that I haven't been anywhere else in 5 years. They are efficient, prompt and always well priced. Unfortunately I haven't been to both, but having the Fourways Lindsey Saker branch closer to me (I live in Pine slopes) and still insisting to go out of my way to Bryanston speaks tons for Hatfield Bryanston IMO.

Thank you so much.
I have just had a look at Hatfields website and I see they even have some sort of service package for each service interval, very nice, they seem more "transparent", I actually got my car from Hatfield abryanston, but spent very little time talking to them, it was my 1st time buying a car and they were pretty good, just took forever to register my car but when they did, they delivered my number plates at my work place.

Yep, you going past Lindsay for Hatfield does say a lot, a colleague of mine also swears by Hatfield. Thank you for your feedback. :)

I started going to Hatfield a few years back and have only ever had good service there.

The mechanic recommended then, Morne, is now the service manager and he really knows his stuff. When Morne became manager a chap named Frans used to work on my car. He's also good but has now left to start his own VW service centre.

I don't know Lindsay Saker, but Hatfield is a pleasure.

Not sure about the story of them scraping a okes Rs4.

Been to both and Lindsay saker fourways is great, but Hatfield Braamfontein is excellent.
Hard to describe the difference but when you car comes back from Lindsay saker you say thanks good work and shake the okes hand.
At Hatfield you hug the mech with tears of joy in your eyes.

Update:

Took my car in yesterday, they brought me home, the technician was friendly, he contacted me at around 11am (2hours after leaving the car there) to let me know nothing was wrong with my brakes as I had asked him to, he then said it will be a regular service, at 12:30 he called me to let me know the car was ready, then offered for the driver to pick me up at around 3pm. Around 2pm I get a call from them, they say the driver will be here at 14:50....at 14:50 I get a call, driver is outside.

We got to the dealership, I waited around 5mins, they gave me a free coffee voucher, technician came to me, explained what he did, I paid, and was on my way.

Through-out they were all incredibly friendly and an awesome bunch of people, they took great care of my baby and gave her back washed, vaccummed, and polished.

Great service by VW Hatfield Bryanston.

Thanks a lot guys!

I have only received shocking service from Lindsay saker Fourways. When they tell you, on 2 separate occasions, with different cars, that it is normal for your car to sound like there is something wrong....

They are actually the reason I moved away from VW to Nissan and never looked back. So I guess should say thank you to them.

I used to take my Polo to VW Hatfield (Hatfield branch). The one time I had to take it to VW McCarthy (Menlyn) made me realize how much better VW Hatfield is. Speaking directly with the mechanics might seem minor, but it makes a huge difference.
