VWSA will be offering just two three-door versions (a five-door is available overseas) of the Up to local buyers - the 'Take up!' and 'Move up!'. Both are powered by a 1-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 55kW and 95Nm, and which drives the front wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. VW claims combined fuel consumption of 4.7 litres per 100km.

Cute car. Crap price.
FYI - The UK model starts at £7,995 - about R135 000.

R130k seems to be about on the money for this in terms of what its competitors charge for similar types of vehicles...

I kind of do like this as a city run about though.

Roughly the same power output as a 1.3 Citigolf, with the same mass, so it should perform well enough in city driving conditions.

One of the few VWs I actually like. It is a real people's car that the people can actually afford. Hope they drop the price and kill the Vivo.
