I'm looking for something like this, but I do not want to buy it off ebay:

Anyone that knows where I can get it locally.
It seems to go for about R700 if you import one from Greece.

i don't think they made them for Astras because they know that Opel drivers don't know class:D

leave the plastic one in there it looks good:D

Exactly - it looks cheaper and more tacky than the original - which is the look I am after at the moment :p

I think a carbon fibre rip-off will be perhaps even more fitting for my purposes...

Yup - I guess all that can be said with certainty is that it won't end well. But it will be fun ! Maybe I'll just but one off ebay in the end.

C'mon, spill the beans... What are you up to this time? It's not like you wanting to pimp your car...

I got a few nasty scratches on the original one when I installed my new LG front loader so I am thinking of replacing the center console. The fake wood one is just so different from what you normally find in an astra and when the fake wood peels off from the extreme heat in SA parking lots I can then just apply some Biggie Best wallpaper or something over it.

It really will be quite unique.

EDIT:Like Street Glow - but just a tad less in your face :p

Now if you had a VAG product with decent quality material, you wouldn't have scratched the original one now, would you?

With a VAG I would not have the option to change the crappy built in VAG radio.

Of course, I had forgotten that Opel forced you to choose some after-market radio...I suppose if you like fake plastic chrome with blue or orange lighting to go with your fake plastic wood, then go for it!

Off topic, I hate built in radios that lack the features and quality of a decent after-market.

Yea - you can install a double DIN or even a kit for a single DIN, but in most cases it looks ****

LG FTW! I can choose between green or red LEDs to perfectly complement the orange backlighting of the rest of the car.

Mush more unique yet tastefully restained than a VAG with an amp.

If colour is important to you, why don't you spray your console with pink or orange hammer-tone finish. It will hide the scratches too. ;):D
