I'd be lying if I said I haven't heard this one 100 times before.

Soo... you have no capital, no innovative ideas and would like someone else to provide both?

You should never start your own business but rather look for a job with the ANC

From experience you cannot start a business without capital. If people say to you aaah i started my business from nothing. It is an indirect lie. Because remember who would support that person. Be it with a place to stay. Using mom and dad's electricity, food etc. Things they might not pay for, but other people do. So you are already running a net loss. Get capital. Draw up a good business plan. Calculate expenses and income.

It is possible.

If you want to start with no capital, go back to basics.

Door to door sales.

Start a food stall.

Start an online web store selling just one product. Something like earphones. With free delivery in an area, say Johannesburg.

Become a middle man of sorts.

Start a service business. Whatever you are good at.

If you good with your hands, make stuff. Make braai stands from old drums, or make funky furniture from pallet wood.

Sell paper to small firms.

If you still cant make it, then educate yourself, get work experience, and take it from there.

Good luck.

I can't believe this good luck - just today I had a great business idea, but no-one to help me execute it.

Here's the plan:

1.) You learn metalwork
2.) you domesticate and breed chimpanzees
3.) you train the chimps in martial arts
4.) you forge platemail armor for the chimps
5.) ??????
6.) Profit.

My best advice is that you should stick to your day job until you have ideas of your own that you are passionate about.

Sorry if I am making assumptions but OP, you sound very young. With the info you provided it is very possible that you may not be ready to start a business, but at least you seem to have the desire. What I would suggest for now is: Find a mentor, maybe Minty203 if he is up for it, because based on your request, his feedback seems practical and realistic. Good luck!

Solid idea here. You get domestic chimps in platemail doing martial arts and you've already sold your first ticket to the show right here. I'm also willing to pitch in on paying for those chimps to get rid of Zuma - I'm sure there are some other forum backers here for that too :)

Wait, is Zuma not a domesticated chimp himself?

I have a buddy that started a fishing kit business out of his home while he worked a full time job. Nobody thought it'd go anywhere, but he kept at it, imported ( custom manufactured ) **** from China, got the agents for the professional kit and rebranded them for himself, and started selling that way. Now he manufactures locally, and the business is self sustaining.

Basically, despite it perhaps not being entirely ethical if you work on your business during the hours the company is paying you, you don't -have- to quit your job to start up a business.

Go to public clinics and get state issue condoms and sell them on street corners. No capital needed.

What skills do you have? What is your background/experience.

You just cannot start "any' business because it is a good business. You need the aptitude and skill over and above all the other factors.
