Wanted to port from 8ta to cellc

Hi Guys,

Last year I bought 60Gb bundle with 8ta and its going to be finished by end of this month.
Now a days it throttling little bit, so next one I would go for is CellC, because it i cheaper.
After looking at this forum, I came to know CellC network is not that.
Have they fixed all your problems?
Please let me know guys, whether to go for cellc Giga100 package or stay with 8ta 60GB bundle package.

I wish I stayed with the 8ta 60GB bundle package. My Cell C Giga 200 doesn't work in the evenings. It may be worthwhile to get a Cell C sim and then test with a small data bundle. Also test at various times of the day since some of us have problems in the evenings and others during the day. For some it's working perfectly.

be very careful of porting to Cell C. occasionally you'll get data throughput but forget about it after 6:00pm. i've had to ditch 2GB of my 3GB data because it simply does not connect although it shows full signal. search this forum there are several threads about it. do not port to Cell C.

Please tell me whether the prepaid data and Giga 100 package are at same speed or not.
Because in CellC website you guys mentioned that "The Giga 100 package is ONLY for use on the Cell C Network. National roaming on the Vodacom network is not allowed on this product."
So do you mean all other data packages does get signal from Vodacom towers ?
So please give us clear idea on this Giga packages. I am not the only on having this doubt, some of my friends also wanted to take this package but thinking to stay with 8ta because of this clause. Also tell me what other data packages out there have roaming over to Vodacom towers.

Hi,

The Giga100 and other Giga packages cannot roam on vodacom and whilst other packages can roam on vodacom but can only roam on EDGE not 3G.

3G data roaming on Vodacom is not posible irrespective of the device you use.

Don't port until the network problems are sorted. Full signal but no data coming through - it's abnormally inconsistent.

Short answer ... Don't do it. Wait until they can prove that they're reliable again. Good pricing, but terrible 3G speeds (if any at all) recently.
