A number of irregularities seem to be effecting the online customer interface. I've been logged out of this account for the best part of 10 hours now but it still shows me as online...

40gb's in 10 days on a 10mb uncapped account and the account is being managed. Haven't been logged onto the account since yesterday around 8pm yet online interface indicates a connected account!! WTF? I thought it was only Openweb that sold single accounts to multiple users?

I've queried something like this before. It turns out that there was more than 1 open session that failed to close upon Port Error or other disconnect. Check your session details from your Control Panel out and you'll most likely see a session or 2 still listed as open. You can drop them an email and ask them to be closed if you are worried about it.

The AUP for the uncapped accounts is based on the available capacity on the network at any given time. If the available capacity is under pressure, we then manage accounts. The higher usage accounts will be managed first. So the AUP is not only usage based and taking a top percentage. It is also network capacity dependant. Currently your account is not managed at all.

The control panel showing online is due to us not receiving a proper stop packet to 2 of your sessions, this could be due to many factors. We have cleared all “ghost sessions” on your account and it should reflect accurately. Please let us know if there are any further issues with this display.

yea i moved away from axxess when they "managed" my 4mbps uncapped account. well thats what the techie on the phone told me.. managed...

when i phoned them the techie told me, they "saw me download a very large amount of data in a very short space of time."

LOL i dno, 4meg account downloaded for a couple of hours at max speed, in the early a.m. might i add.

in other words, this clown was telling me i cant download at my maximum speed, for which i am paying. how much can you possbile download in 3 hours. breaking protocols here!!

he was pretty happy to reanable my account if i told them i wouldnt do it again. i laughed at the guy and told him to close my account. it was just redonk.

and no AUP, according to the IS site i had only done 23gb that month.

June was my last month with Axxess. Had 2 x Uncapped 10Mb accounts, and canned them both and moved to Openweb.

Since Axxess moved to MTN, I could download at max speed for 2 days max, and then spend the rest of the month "managed".
When I cancelled they asked if there was some way they could keep the business. I told them not to 'manage' as enthusiastically as they have been, but got no response..........

What's point of selling an uncapped account and then telling your customer that while it's uncapped, it's uncapped for less than 1 week of every month ?
They hide behind their AUP and think we can't see that we're being violated ! If I had nothing better to do with my time, I would complain to the ASA about misleading advertising.

If Axxess sold bakkies, they would sell you a bakkie with a 1 ton load capacity, and then tell you, that you could only load it to 1 ton, twice a month, because their AUP says so..................

Their UUP (Unexplainable usage policy) is ridiculous. Move to afrihost - if you ever were to get shaped (doesnt happen often), they only shape torrents and http downloads - not any streaming or web browsing

Aah, feel bad for posting this, too bad I can't strikethrough on MB. I think the reason axxess seemed to shape me a lot was because when I was using their company, they were still very new and therefore their clientbase wasn't really that huge. This means that there were fewer people for the shaping algorithm to compare me against.

Hi DJ & others on this thread,

I would just like to point out that our Management Protocol is identical to that of Afrihost, we only shape torrents and http downloads, we do not manage streaming or browsing.

Thanks for the feedback, Axxess Lady.

FYI I left Axxess a few months ago already after this nonsense. Moved to Openweb and I'm quite happy with them...

If 36GB is regarded as abuse I'm glad I'm with Openweb because I just pulled that amount of data in the last 9 hours :D

The theoretical maximum upload at 1024kb/s is around 400mb per hour or 9600mb over 24 hours....
