Warning about the juiceboost scam.

I've seen a couple of people wearing "juiceboost" referrer links in their signatures.

Please remove them immediately. "juiceboost" is just another multi-level-marketing scam riding the back of "free broadband" hysteria.

There's no money, and all the people you sent this thing to are now also going to get scammed, and all the email addy's you've given them will now be used during the next 'amazing product' scam, whenever it's launched (will probably be in about 2 weeks once juiceboosted runs dry).

Okay, when this topic first arose, I tried explaining this.... it can be seen as a scam, which most of the time it is, BUT :

This has been used over and over again. Listen up kiddies, oomie Pieter is going to tell you the fundamentals of such a "scam"

#1 Promise people that you'll pay them for their referrals and offer them some kind of free product
#2 Take the list of clients you just generated to interested parties who wishes to spend their capital on ADVERTISING
#3 Provide a sub-standard product (because of high volumes, in this case) and pay people out a PERCENTAGE of the income generated via this advertising money you just got from these corporates wishing to advertise

This could work, but the failure rate almost always out weighs the success rate of such a company. I remember an sms thing in south africa, where you earned R5 per cellnumber that joined up, and you got 5 smses a day with adverts, each generating you a little bit of cash, and the more people you signed up, the more you could earn.......

Their aim is to get 300 million subscribers using JuiceB. And each subscriber gets 100% guaranteed 2MB (2000kbps). First thing, these guys don't know the difference between MegaBytes and Megabits. This should be the first red warning flag. This is if you overlook the fact that using information theory, it is just physically impossible to get that much information over a data link that has a 9600 baud modem in the link. (They claim their system will work with a 9600 baud modem)

So let us be conservative and assume they mean 2Mbps. So 300,000,000 users each at 2,000,000 b/s gives us a total bandwidth requirement of 600,000,000,000,000 b/s. That is 600,000 Gb/s or 600 Terra b/s. Wow, I wonder where they get their bandwidth from. Maybe there is another scam that you can get FREE bandwidth. Maybe we should ask Sentech to investigate this so it can solve their lack of bandwidth problem.

And another thing. There is not any system in the galaxy that can guarrantee 100% uptime. Even systems that claim 99.9999 (four nines) or even 99.99999 (five nines) % uptime have to spend millions of dollars in implementing dual and quad redundent systems. 100% uptime is like traveling faster than the speed of light.

I must say however, that this is a brilliant scam. They will most probably hook millions and millions of suckers.
