Just a heads up that using ClockWorkMod Recovery Touch v5.5.0.4 can cause your device to enter a bootloop, stay away!

Talking from experience?

IF so, OUCH.
haha kind of, wanted to try a new ICS rom but after installing it it just went into bootloop, luckily i backed up my old rom so no problems switching back. But if you don't have a backup you might be in trouble, no way to fix it that I could find.

What make and model of phone?

I've used CWM Touch on a couple of devices and never had this issue - have you tried posting on XDA?

he says he tried to install a rom. it is possible that the bootloop was not caused by the recovery (cwm touch) but rather the rom itself (maybe a corrupt download or any other reason).

Yeah - it's unusual for CWM to cause a bootloop. Not unheard of but I haven't seen too many complaints with Touch

I don't think the file was corrupt, Rom installed fine, I just can't get past recovery mode

Lots of mentions of 5.5.0.4 causing problems, especially on the transformer prime. But none of the solutions seem to work though

Yeah after installing the rom the new recovery version was also installed, weird and I haven't seen mention of that problem in the ROM's thread

i've flashed many a rom over 4 different android devices. have to say i've never done one that flashes a recovery as well. learn something new and all that.

Yeah it's also new to me, other reason could be that I remember trying to install the touch version of CWM a few months ago but it never installed properly, maybe there was something with my rom blocking it at the time or something, maybe now installing the new rom somehow that version of cwm was able to install properly, although I'm struggling to find a link there. But I saw no mention in the rom's thread of installing touch or anyone commenting on it, so I'm grasping at straws here.

I used CWM v5.5.0.4 and managed to get into a bootloop as well. Proposed fixes aren't working so far...

i recently reflashed my GT 7" and noticed actually that the ROM I flashed changed the recovery.

i guess this has something to do with the way samsungs flash. given i am next to useless with them.
