Thanks for the warning, what am I supposed to do about it? I mean bugs can be ground into protein and made quite palatable. You could actually make a decent mince type food with crickets and soy, not sure the rest of the population would be okay with it.
The crickets give the soy a bit of a nutty taste.

You've eaten that nutty soy cricket mince?

This. Looking for a few chickens for the garden now. Already have around 20 types of fruit trees planted and loads of veggies. Hoping to create a fully self-sufficient food forest in the backyard.
I guess you don't have monkeys?

same this side. Planted just over 40 trees and a few berry bushes in the last year. I have tried a few different chickens, so far the Sussex looks the best to me as a dual purpose breed

It's the vegans fault, now we have to make up the difference. Almost like a "connection" fee

A crap ton of monkeys, but manage to keep them out of some parts of the garden using red cloth tied to trees, hanging CDs and nasturtiums (they seem to hate the smell of them).

I see they're poisonous for dogs? I have 4.

Good to know about red cloth and cd's, I must try that. We have a troop that comes through everyday. I think our property is the intersection on the monkey highway. Sometimes there are 2 troops and they hash it out with each other.
