Good day,
My girlfriend cancelled her CellC contract in March effective end of April. This month she was debited double her standard monthly bill. When phoning CellC today to enquire they said they can see that on her account she has signed up for these scum off the earth bull**** WASP services. Now they say you can receive 5 SMSs a day and she has signed up for 5 different services to the cost of R7 per SMS per day and now she is liable for R700 up till this point.
The call centre agent has stopped this and she has deregister with *133*1#. To this day she has not received anyone of these SMS that they claimed she has signed up for. The only thing that she did different this month to any other is to cancel her contract with CellC so I find this rather suspicious.
Is there any recourse one can take against CellC for allowing this services that she clearly has not signed up for nor even received. If she would've received even one SMS we would've immediately contacted CellC to stop this.
The provider in question is Basebone. CellC just says sorry we paid basebone for the service you subsribed to and you need to contact them for a refund. Help?
