A truck driver was killed and another seriously injured when their vehicles collided on the R60 in Leeuriver near Swellendam in the Western Cape.

This, however, did not stop looters who descended on one of the vehicles and made off with alcohol that was loaded onto it.

Video footage circulating online shows crowds making off with the liquor.

It is believed one of the drivers lost control of his vehicle and collided with an oncoming truck. One of them then burst into flames.

Western Cape police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk said: "The driver of the one vehicle succumbed in the fire and the other one was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment."

The police have urged anyone with information about this fatal incident to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or to contact the Swellendam police.

While the intention might be good - this being the DA I strongly feel the extra required licenses to operate and the fines they can impose for these new violations are the main driving force.....

Huh?

These people will drag a corpse and/or injured person to the side, so they can loot.

I'm sure @Mar Vin will be along shortly to blame this on hunger and poverty...
Well if paramedics, tow truck drivers and police will rob a dying person involved in a collision before/while assisting them then no surprises here.

Ahhhh...My greatest admirer....

Well must say...If myself and family were starving, I'd loot that sh8T too...Alcohol sells.

If the looting is for any other reason then this I don't condone...

Use that thing man.
