As horrendous as this is... The truck driver learnt from the taxis... Just put on your hazards and you can do whatever you want.

It looks like the taxi was also speeding as it deflected the heavy truck from its lane.

Hope truck driver sits in jail for a decade
The fields hill tragedy, Sanele May was sentenced to 10 years. And he experienced genuine brake failure and runaway truck.

The footage here. The truck driver makes zero attempt to serve away. Nothing, the steering and vehicle remained arrow-straight until impact.

The driver did not as much as even glance towards the left direction.

If he was labouring with some mechanical issue, he would have anticipated the possibility of traffic in his hightened state of alertness, seen the oncoming taxi and swerved, even if only for a moment, to try avoid it. But nothing.

I hope 3 decades.

If the trucks brakes failed then it shouldn't be on the road, brakes don't just fail. Poorly maintained vehicle, hopefully the transport company is charged, makes me sick

Hazards indicating brake failure? Maybe? I know I am reaching.
pretty brake lights will still work if brakes 'failed'

there are other ways to slow down a vehicle, this guy doesn't look like he was even trying

Doubt brake failure. That road is pretty much flat and very long.... as is most of the town. The speed of that vehicle was encouraged by the human intentionally pressing on its loud pedal.

Why would you risk other peoples lives by guiding your truck into intersections (assuming brake failure) , man up and flip that trukker , less death on your conscience or a ticket to valhalla for you.

Lately I don't know who is worse; taxi drivers, bus drivers or truck drivers.

This morning, whilst I was doing 80 km/h in an 80 km/h zone, a bus rocketed past me in the left lane and weaved in to the middle lane without indicating. He continued to accelerate away from me at a good speed so my guess is he was easily doing 100 km/h. In an 80 zone. In Monday morning traffic. If the muppet lost control or had brake failure he'd cause a mess. Fvcking idiot.
