Watch GT 2e vs Watch Series 6 vs Galaxy Watch 3 - The best smartwatches in South Africa

South Africans looking to buy the best smartwatches on the market have three brands to choose from - Apple, Huawei, and Samsung.

Apple accounts for more than half the smartwatches sold on the global market, and recently launched the Watch Series 6, its latest flagship smartwatch.

Huawei and Samsung currently offer the Watch GT 2e and Galaxy Watch 3 as their respective premium options.

No NFC and no 3rd party apps on the Watch GT2e. So technically not a smart watch but rather a souped up fitness tracker.
Only thing it has going for it is the battery life.

GT2e , you have to install back end programs , to get any custom watch faces on it . Huawei is made for communist countries , no freedom . Phone bootloaders are also locked .

Not really fair to include "Blood oxygen sensor (Sp02)" for the Galaxy Watch 3, when that functionality is disabled in South Africa.

Not sure why this is a problem?
Having a sensor that is unavailable to use is worth as much as it not existing at all. Listing it as a feature is just misleading when the article is directed at South African buyers.
It's a problem because when you research and compare products you look at specs and functionality. If the full array of functions that you have built into the product is not available because of your location it is rather pointless.

Doesn't matter, the Samsung has Samsung Pay. Offsets the fact that the blood oxygen sensor is disabled.

If I'm a athlete looking to stop by my local shop on my trip around the block it would make a difference.

18 hours battery life. What are Apple thinking? Nobody must be interested in sleep patterns?

My Huawei watch is exactly what I need. It's not for everyone, but don't need the 3rd party apps etc. Happy with it as a super fitness tracker...

I agree 100%. I have a Watch GT2 as my daily wearable. But it should be marketed as such. Along with the fitness bands
