Maybe you have to sign a waiver saying you only want it to be able to set lap times around the Nürburgring or something...

Not at all...remember that most cars capable of dangerous high speeds without signing any waiver. You can buy entry level BMW, VW Golf that will do over 200km/h.

There are certain customers who want the capability of driving at those high speeds.

And BMW think it's acceptable to disable the speed limiter ?

Then they should accept culpability for any deaths arising from 'their decision'.
Not sure you're more likely to die when going in excess of 200 really so upping the limit shouldn't make a differentce to how much of a stew you become on impact. I think Audi also remove limit for a small splodge of Wonga.

You dont feel it ..I have been 280 with a m5 as a passenger. 250 a few times as well

The cars reach 250 so easily its unbelievable

the 1st v10 models around 2006 and the 1st models didnt have limiters. Some software issue

Think you misunderstand. My mind will have a fit if I go those speeds. I used to also do 120KM/h on a dirt road in Polokwane. Then just one day your mind asks what if and you lose your composure. At least that was me.

But most cars are capable of killing people and so why specifically target BMW for enabling a car to do high speeds which it is designed for?

I know what you are referring to. When I was younger I would drive up to Oudtshoorn or Ladysmith withn a moments notice (many times at weird hours), sometimes driving at speed through the Karoo.

Then one night, after returning from a wedding in Ladysmith, I realized that the road is actually very dark, and there might be animals crossing the road at any moment, immediately slowed down. I still told my wife I simply can't believe I was stupid enough to speed on that road at night, many times I also had no sleep for days on end as life was just one big party. Stupid, very stupid.
