Could have been a family on their way home from the Waterfront. What would have happened if his tyre had burst a few seconds earlier. What if that driver got a fright and tried to change lanes. People do funny things when they get a fright ...

True what they say, there is no cure for stupidity. They are all selfish, they have no consideration for others, and clearly don't think of the consequences of their reckless actions.
And yet, you will find they will still carry on with it.

Looks like he was going about 230km/h 12 seconds in with a whole lot more acceleration thereafter.

Just looking at street lights going past was scary but when he blew past that other car....:X3: Imagine seeing that coming up behind you in the rear view mirror ...

Would still like to know who the second person was and what happened to them.
If you look at the extent of his injuries, one can only assume they ended up with similar or worse.

I'm not sure I would know how to react. I wonder at what hours this was taking place.

I tried to see in the vid if "soldier" toufiek had his seat belt on but didn't see it, I suspect the passenger might have had his on, then he would have minimal injuries as there seems to very little intrusion into the passenger cell of the car.

Considering the car went through the barrier passenger-door first, and that's where most of the damage to the car is, I can only assume the passenger is dead. Must be "kept quiet" or something probably to not put the poor driver in bad light.
