Sorry Dad, I won't do it again, you can give me jacks now.

No need for 'jacks' - whatever that is. Just steering the debate back to idiotic crap seems ...... pointless. Constantly expressing the dislike of someones belief doesn't get us anywhere. Rather just express the dislike of that persons actions.

As an example...constantly criticizing the Roman catholic faith and followers gets us nowhere - criticizing the popes propensity for sucking on little boy dick can get us somewhere though.

I choose life. Hence why i don't drive over 80 :)
As long as people who do this stay off roads where the limit is higher and drive at the limit on the rest then it isn't a problem. But deliberately endangering other people by driving slowly is not acceptable.

A thought experiment: I'm sure if people were driving 120km/hr and saw others parked in the middle of the freeway they would be pissed and angry because of how dangerous it is to park cars on the freeway. Yet these racers driving +200km/hr generally don't think the speed is as dangerous in the same way, yet it is exactly the same danger.
That points to the fact that those who persist in driving below the posted limits should be fined for endangering other people.

The Western Cape Provincial Road Traffic Administration Amendment Bill could see speedsters' wheels being confiscated permanently or for the duration of their reckless and negligent driving trial
If they take a car during a trial and then fail to get a conviction will they pay the owner compensation? Confiscation on conviction should also be left up to the court to decide.

Losing your legs is a high price to pay for your actions and whatever legal action against him, he has earned that too, but I also hope he recovers fully and learn from all of this and go on to live a good life for him and his family.

In my opinion, a lot of hate against him is not only because he was racing (if you know what i mean). There are some underlying issues if you read into some of the members comments.

no one is too bad to become good and no one is too good to become bad.

Nope, no underlying issues from most of us..

He is a twat plain and simple, and losing his legs doesn't change that fact.

Its amazing how much media attention his story gets compared to say "1600 road deaths during festive season". Maybe its because he was driving a BMW , crashed spectacularly and there are videos of the incident all over.

There's a difference between accidents and going out and deliberately putting other peoples lives at risk for your own selfish ego.

Or...maybe it was because he's a complete idiot for racing on a national highway with other road users on it at over 290km/hr with a blatant disregard for other peoples lives. And all this with an equally mentally challenged audience and his family watching on

I was right about the amputation. They took off more from the seemingly intact leg and left the damaged one longer.

Ok, I'll bite(probably shouldn't as I actually think you are trolling), why do you think people are "hating" on him? And what do you think these underlying issues is?

I would guess the answer is pretty obvious.. we don't like the name.

I think many of those 1600 fatalities result from deliberate acts that put people's lives at risks. In fact, it happens throughout the year (15 000 fatalities) but focus is always on Festive/Easter season.

I called on Talk 702 the other day actually complaining about their analysis on festive season road deaths. I wanted to point out that they should equally be discussing hazards like pedestrians, animals etc instead of always focusing only on speed, drinking and driving. Sorry, I digressed from the main thread topic.

I'll stop posting here after I say this:
He gets zero respect from me, not because he's a Slamou, but because he is an arrant fool and an endangerer of lives, and smiles from his hospital bed as if he is a f**king hero.
I have zero time for arrogant people like him, who will do it again given 1/2 the chance.
His punishment of losing his legs ought to have given him pause for thought, but I doubt it, he will get metal legs and go for it again.

Smith said Cape Town officials had met with the city's senior legal counsel on Tuesday to amend the draft Traffic By-law.
This was an attempt to see if it could include impounding or forfeiture when petrol heads are caught driving recklessly.
He said they were still getting legal advice on whether they could add it to their own by-law.
