i suspect they dont use a track for racing because they are inherently crap drivers and lack the confidence and competence to take corners at high speed.

There was something interesting said on a radio talk show last week where an ex-racer explained the thinking behind this. Lets say race day ends at the race track, but Racer A says to Racer B, "hey, I never got to race you, but track is closing down so lets take this outside"

A group message is sent out on WhatsApp about the race, time and place and its on.

So its about who has the bigger d1ck!

The passenger who survived the horror N1 street racing crash in Cape Town escaped with only a cut to his finger.

The 24-year-old man, whose full name is known to News24, was treated by Metro emergency medical services at the accident scene.

Provincial health department spokesperson Mark van der Heever confirmed paramedics had attended to the man before he was transported to New Somerset Hospital for further examination

Someone is bound to sue the race driver. He doesn't have a leg to stand on regarding his defense.

BMW horror crash: Passenger escaped with only cut to finger

From the article

Strange that this information only comes to light now

From the article

"News24 on Tuesday published footage taken from the passenger side of the luxury vehicle, which was travelling at 320km/h before the crash. "

Some strange discrepancies on reported speeds

i wouldnt give a rat's arse if each of them slammed into the side of a bridge - one after the other.

fukk the lot of them, confiscate and crush the vehicles
In addition, tracks would not allow a vehicle that uses cheap bald tyres that don't match the speed rating of the vehicle.

Protect the innocent road users at all cost, increase policing of these illegal street racing imbeciles, jail them and crush the cars.

I sure hope the lack-toes Tawfeetless is prosecuted.

Eish yes, I recently came across archived copies of CAR magazine which perfectly supports your assertation about boy racers. Back then they were doing it with Ford Cortinas I believe.
The thing I don't get is, you can actually go to the local track and do your speeding on the track, and it doesn't cost much as far as I know. But instead they go do it on public roads.

as far as you know ...

There is a guy in CPT who owned almost every supercar under the planet

The white lambo SV in CPT was his ..same guy who had the lambo sells lies banner

He tried so many times to hire our killarney or do private events there. Money wasnt the issue for him but not once did they ever allow it or even negotiate it

I don't race on the streets, but I can tell you why I don't do it anywhere else either.
For drag racing, I would have to go to tarlton on specific nights/days, and that's far.
For track racing, there's pretty much only track days which doesn't really involve proper racing. And they are also far.
Also, insurance wont cover you if you crash.
Furthermore, the track days I've been to are marshalled by MSSA, which require certain safety standards. There are vehicle inspections, you can't have loose stuff in the car, and you should wear a helmet, long sleeved shirt, and gloves.
Track days also require you to be there early for the inspection.

All that sounds like a lot of effort for a man child just wanting to compare launch controls.

Wheres this video

"One showed a bystander assisting Carr after the crash. His bloody legs are moved and positioned out of the car, with his left foot clearly broken. "
