The police service has condemned the “unbecoming” conduct of an on-duty police officer who was caught drunk on video footage in the North West.
“The police management is appalled by the unprofessional and unbecoming conduct of a constable stationed at Wolmaransstad in the Dr Kenneth Kaunda district,” said police spokesperson Brig Sabata Mokgwabone.
In the video captured by members of the community on Saturday, the police officer wearing full uniform can be seen struggling to stand steady as a man summons him to get out to inspect a state motor vehicle and check what appears to be a scratch.
“See what you have done,” the man says to the officer as he points out the scratch.

He can kiss that job goodbye

Still not allowed to fire him. He will however be given a choice, either resign, or become Alcoholics Anonymous' newest member. Should he fail to attend the sessions though or comes in drunk again he will most certainly then be fired.

It's actually very serious when it gets to this point because now he has a choice to make a life altering decision; either get help and put alcohol behind you or get fired for being drunk on the job. The latter is very, very bad and I mean bad in ways he hasn't even thought of yet.

It's just not worth it. Get help dude.
