Spot fine... Asking for money immediately.. A figure of R600... Any one of those should be enough for the traffic officer to lose their job
The guy making the video had a bit of a chip though. Can't find official info but a guy who drives Swaziland registered cars at work says foreign registered cars are required to pay the fine on the spot or at least before being allowed to proceed. Which makes a bit of sense but I guess they could enforce it at the border but in this guy's case he only goes to Swaziland a couple of times a year. And our systems aren't connected enough for them to pick up a recently issued fine.

I heard her asking the driver to come with to pay the ticket at the police station, but nowhere in the video did I hear anything about a R600 ticket, I have listened multiple times now, am I the only one who is missing the R600 fine part?

About the spot fine and it's definition, I still don't think it's grounds for dismissal, at most a warning. Coming to the part about paying it now she could well argue that she meant the driver must pay the ticket at the police station.

I am not saying she wasn't asking for a bribe, in case someone jumps on my back, I am just saying there is nothing incriminating and I also don't think there is anything that could be pinned on her to warrant dismissal in a disciplinary hearing.

OK, watching and listening a few more times, I admit that the officers comments are inaudible so can't make a judgement on that.

Unless he has some other clear audible evidence, he's foolishly put himself in the line of fire.

After being told she's being recorded and he's phoning the anti-corruption hotline :D

Seriously? You just skipped the whole first part and saw that?

The yank is jumping the gun there it seems to me. Foreigners are supposed to pay fines immediately as far as I understand. Not sure if it's at the roadblock or you go to their office but my understanding is you pay before proceeding.

nein, they are not allowed to accept any form of payment.
