Lol africa. Lazy, incompetent, corrupt cops wont even act when the kak happens in their police station.
Really starting to hate this ****ing **** hole of a country.
That is one police station, there are more than a thousand in SA so don't paint them with the same brush. There's thousands of hard-working dedicated police men and women who put their lives on the line for your ass daily.

The police are obliged to react and protect the person being assaulted. What a lot of the public don't realise is that, except for murder, the police cannot charge anyone for assault on anyone else. The charge has to be laid by the victim. I am aware of a person who no longer has the use of an arm but refuses to lay a charge because he is afraid of the repercussions. The police can do nothing to help him. The charge is the legal paperwork that starts the entire ball rolling. Without it, the police have to release the assailant even if they detained him/her to prevent an assault.

It works like this:

1. Victim lays charge of assault or submits an affidavit. The police will formulate the charges from an affidavit.
2. A docket is opened and the victim is given a MAS number.
3. The docket is sent to the detectives for investigation.
4. The perp is arrested.
5. The perp appears in a court within 48 hours to answer charges.
6. The perp is either released on bail or kept in custody
7. A trial date is set.
8. The trial is held.
9. If guilty, the perp is sentenced.
That is the process if the police are not present as a witness to the assault. They are duty bound to intervene and stop an assault from occurring or continuing.

Yes there are, and there are thousands who undermine the hard working, starting at the top.

What I said:

The police are obliged to react and protect the person being assaulted.

But if the person that was assaulted, even in front of them, refuses to lay a charge, they are powerless to charge the perp.

Fairly typical behaviour of the SAPS. The level of thuggery and corruption in a national police force usually reflects that of those who govern.
There was also thuggery in the KGB and their controllers instilled the same training into those who now control and direct SAPS. A look at how detainees were treated in Quadro, Pango and other camps shows the same pattern.

Couple seeks sanctuary in police station away from mob of alleged assailants

The Lowveld community reeled with shock after a White River couple had allegedly been assaulted in full view of the SAPS inside the White River Police Station after they had rushed to the station in search of a safe place to hide from numerous attackers.

On Sunday morning Delia Human and her fiancé, Barend Byliefeldt, left their farm outside White River to go grocery shopping at Checkers in town. They had their dog with them.

“When we were approaching White River, a group of vehicles started overtaking on double solid lines, nearly pushing us off the road. At this point Barend told me to take his phone and start recording as they were driving extremely recklessly.

“When we approached the Casterbridge circle, we were basically surrounded by these suspect vehicles. The one, a black Range Rover with no licence plates, suddenly stopped in front of us, blocking our entry into the clear traffic circle. The driver of the black Range Rover brought his car to a complete standstill in front of us, got out of his vehicle, pulled out his firearm, and walked towards the driver’s side of our vehicle.

“Barend told me to get down as he was concerned the man would shoot, when another man swung a large, concrete divider at the drivers’ side window, smashing it instantly. Barend reversed, smashing into the vehicle that was blocking our rear and then went off-road, over the barriers to get out from behind the black Range Rover. At this point the driver of the Range Rover went around the front of his vehicle and had his firearm pointed at us the entire time. In order to avoid him, Barend reversed away from him, smashing into his vehicle as well. We went over the traffic barriers to get away from them and started driving towards White River Police Station.

This is actually insane. You think that the police would help you, instead they help the bad guys and tell them to hand over their phones to the bad guys.

They probably are telling the truth when they say they have police and judges in their pocket.

The gangsters are in cahoots with the police. The police are the gangsters.

One day someone is going to be armed and this will end in blood.

And people wonder why we need firearms for protection in SA - because sometimes the police are on the bad guys side!!!!!

Their story is BS. They picked a fight and tried to play speed cop, and got what they deserved.

Did you watch the footage. They pulled firearms on them. And assaulted them in the police station. The police told them to hand over their phones to the bad guys.

You think that is in any way right??
The guys who did that. The "bad guys" are probably all police or something.

I see blue light brigades on the highway most days. I know not to pick a fight with them and expect the same to happen if I do.

There's nothing as annoying as some private person trying to play speed cop and block people who they perceive to be driving too fast. This time they picked a fight with the wrong people.

Obviously complete failure from the police, as could be expected.

Sweet so next time someone drives slow in the right lane and doesn't move over I can pull my gun on them, you know because they asked for it.....

@rietrot got a point. Nobody reacts like that without getting provoked the second mistake these two "victims" made is thinking the police would protect them. He's actually lucky that they didn't do something way worse with the drama queen in the background. Next time let them pass without recording or trying to do something you might even get a friendly thank you hazard sign.
