I was really dissapointed with this movie. Do you have to know all the lore behind the original storyline to "get it"?

The start sucked, so much was unexplained and the end sucked. It was way too cluttered... and trying to make the story look like a comic book screwed it up like it did the first Hulk.

Did anyone enjoy this movie.. and why?

It was sort of . . . eh.

I thought it was really good :)
Just rushed :/

Rushed???? It was 2 and a half hours long... Shew that movie had me wriggling throughout, battled to keep still and pay attention. The action scenes were good but the slow contemplative moments really dragged IMO...

It ended? It seemed perpetual.

Well if you spoke to the glow in the dark dude... thats all relative.

Now some questions:

1) Other than the Dr M.. wtf were their super powers? Like explain Rorschach and his mask (the Rorschach test mask).. whats up with that? How does his mask do it? Other than being a tough ass.. whats his super power?

2) The batman wannabe... whats his super power or is he just rich with cool gadgets?

3) Chick in the terrible underwear... shes strong... but whats her super power?

I mean this was ment to be about super heroes with cool abilities and stuff. The only cool one was Dr M.

Basically it looked like a movie that showed a lot of super heroes without any really cool powers that had major social and personal mental issues.

I think in the end the moral of the story was you have to suffer to know pain or something like that. I dont know.. but it was pretty freaky. The cool dude dies... the bad one lives on... the powerful one runs away. End.

Most of them don't have super powers.

I enjoyed the movie quite a lot. The comic book was better though.

I though it was a Crap movie. I even fell asleep some way in the first half.

The guys who read the book or comic book or illustrated novel or whatever they call it will disagree, and say its the greatest movie ever.

Apart from the blue guy, none of them had super powers.

"Rorschach's mask (which he refers to as his "face") consisted of a specialized fabric, one that was actually two layers of fabric with viscous black and white fluids trapped between them.

The fluids remained in constant motion, being affected by heat and pressure, however the black and white colors never combined to form gray. The patterns formed by the fluids also maintained a constant symmetrical pattern down the midline of whatever shape the fabric had been formed into."

Aaah.. ok.. not explained in the movie. What about the evil genius guy who gets away with it that can dodge and catch bullets?

(Thanks for letting me know you read the comic, I guess you should know the lore to understand the movie... which would make it a very small minority of its viewers)

You better hide this thread from Antowan - he reckons it is the best movie ever! I had a few arguments with him regarding the matter, but resigned myself to the fact that he rates the movie far higher than The Matrix, Terminator or other Sci-Fi classics...

Haha.. I think you have to know the background stories ... like have read the comic series to enjoy it. I love sci-fi, but this comes nowhere close to the Matrix (*makes a sign to ward off evil at the blasphemy*).

I was not blown away by the acting or story line, but perhaps I should read the comics and then give the movie another try. The sex scene was sooo fake it was like watching ETV on a saturday night.

w1z4rd, would you sit through a 9 hour flick that has no rush fealing to it ?. i thought it was really good from the point that the heroes aren't pictured out as these perfect souls whom does not falter; anti hero sentiments, i liked that.

i have to wonder how many people was hyped to the point in a 300 clone expectancy...

I sat through 9 hours of Lord of the Rings...

You often get stories with "anti hero sentiments" I mean Wolverine is not painted as being perfect, Gabriel was a great movie with fallen heroes. Its not unique to this story.

I had 0 hype or read 0 hype on this story other than it was going to involve super heroes and be based on a comic.

I was expecting more. I dont know the lore so there was a lot I "didnt get". I get that.

I cant wait until they make a movie about a real super hero .. like Lobo :D
