Watchmen

I sat through 9 hours of Lord of the Rings...
aaaw so you can do the ±12 one with starwars or 9 with dune miniseries, but problem is your average joe's concentration level and total sitting fitness hence flicks being anything from hour and half to 3 max, some cases 3.5 hours.

I was expecting more.
that is why you fail ;)

i sure didn't except another master piece, i just went to see it as one huge mother****er tech demo at imax, which that for it was actually good. i woudn't write home about the plot, story or charters but i did find interist in the theming and pro non I-just-passed-puberty-heroes-with-girlfriend-issues or ZOMG the chosen one aspects.

the flick in itself was more of dramatic something over being an action.

I rate the latest Wolverine kicked Watchmens ass under the table :D ..but then.. I know the X-Men lore :D

I rate this slightly higher than Sky Captain and the World of tomorrow .. and it looks like they had the same CGI team working on both movies.

lol, that flick was one of the most ***kest things i saw. then again i expected so much more of it; i wanted 1080p and got some monocrome ripoff...

I went to it expecting more of the same that I had in the last two Xmen movies.. so I was happily suprised that it was better than the last two attempts.

Star Trek imho was easily one of the very top flicks for this year; compared to the xmen dribble.

The movie sucked. It lacked the nuance, depth and characterisation of the novel.
It was a completely shallow adaptation that missed the point.

Being a trekkie .. I am avidly waiting for the DVD release. I have not watched it yet.. I left it too late at the cinema. I have not googled or looked at any reviews about it. I dont know the story line other than its about Kirk and Spocks Starfleet Academy days.

Ive got no expectations other than "I hope its better than any of the other movies theyve made".

As a trekkie I even like the badly done movies, cause some ST is better than none.

heh, prepare for some lensflare attacks ;)

I thought it was good.

This thread should be moved.

Star Trek is awesome.

Watchmen >>> Wolverine.

The end

:)

seriously even cry the beloved country was >> wolferine.

Some good action scenes!, but that was about it..

why couldn't the blue dude(MR D I think is his name) put on some f$ckn clothes..

I watched Watchmen for the first time last night and was deeply disappointed. What an anticlimax. The hero dies, the bad guy wins and the only superhero runs away.

And whats up with the bad guy? His super power is that he is very clever. In the end he dodges bullets and is as just as strong as the other superheros. Come on guys.

All the older superheros just liked costume parties but had no powers.

Wolverine was about as bad as the first X-Men movie.

Watchmen was a cool flick, something else in the superheroes genre.

Star Trek, trekkie fan or not, was an awesome sci-fi movie.

watchmen was pretty cool, but some things i did not understand (i never read the comic or "graphic novel" as it is also referred to). also puzzled me what exactly, apart from punching really hard, their powers were. hot chick, cool action, and i mostly liked it. apparently the ending of the book was adapted. not the same, but if you ask me, the movie ending sounds better than the book ending

as for the star trek movie, havent seen it myself, but i found this little clip REALLY interesting. check this for some lulz

nothing beats copying a winning formula.

I was really dissapointed with this movie. Do you have to know all the lore behind the original storyline to "get it"?

The start sucked, so much was unexplained and the end sucked. It was way too cluttered... and trying to make the story look like a comic book screwed it up like it did the first Hulk.

Did anyone enjoy this movie.. and why?

Yes if you really wanted to "get" the movie you either had to e a fan of the comics or you should have done some research.

And yes I did enjoy it. It was not meant to be a big "blow-shlt-up-screenplay" but a much more subtle movie.

I thought it was really good :)
Just rushed :/

I also enjoyed it, seeing as we don't get "action-hero" movies that convay a real message a lot.

Well if you spoke to the glow in the dark dude... thats all relative.

Now some questions:

1) Other than the Dr M.. wtf were their super powers? Like explain Rorschach and his mask (the Rorschach test mask).. whats up with that? How does his mask do it? Other than being a tough ass.. whats his super power?

2) The batman wannabe... whats his super power or is he just rich with cool gadgets?

3) Chick in the terrible underwear... shes strong... but whats her super power?

I mean this was ment to be about super heroes with cool abilities and stuff. The only cool one was Dr M.

Basically it looked like a movie that showed a lot of super heroes without any really cool powers that had major social and personal mental issues.

I think in the end the moral of the story was you have to suffer to know pain or something like that. I dont know.. but it was pretty freaky. The cool dude dies... the bad one lives on... the powerful one runs away. End.

You do love research so why not do some :)

1) Rorschach

2) Nite owl

3) Silk Spectre

No it was meant to a bit deeper than transformers 2 or Batman and robin......

I think this movie was for the people who wanted a bit more "soul" with there movie not just CGI and non-stop explosions. Maybe it was for a more mature audience? This and Batman TDK were great movies as it actually had some questions it asked the viewer. Although this was a bit more "deep" than TDK imo.

Most of them don't have super powers.

I enjoyed the movie quite a lot. The comic book was better though.

+1, I actually read (some of) the comic books after I saw the movie and I must say there you get a lot more character development.

Anyway like I said this was not meant to be a kiddy fest... if you want that go watch Sharkboy and Lavagirl, Twighlight, Wolverine or Trasformers II.

:D I have to agree
im not a trekie at all but ST was AWESOME!
