Anyone know about the water main break in Wynberg today?

It seems the whole town is out and they can't find the turn off valve to work on the problem.

I can't find any info the city website to find out how long they expect this to take. Should have stored water for this very reason.

Any info would be appreciated.

some info -- they dont care

Havnt services been on the decline since the new gvt... they are use to living in bad conditions, so just get use to it

The one day a pipe burst in front of our house, it took the mununicpality 2 days before they came to fix it

And the water was added to my bill a fat R1000 for water that month... till today they wont pay me back that money

All I can say is we are busy being africanized

"Africanized"
LOL
We have always been African, but we are emulating the worst aspects.;)

I thought the Zille regime would sort these sort of problems out quicker. In our area they won't respond to broken street lights, stopped mow the verges and have generally become quite lax. The rates are going to increase too. Maybe the funds unspent are going to go to the homeless, I don't know.

We drove over to Claremont for a shower and lunch. On the way there we saw the utility trucks on Waterloo Rd digging up the street (11am). On the way back right now, they were filling in the hole (3:30pm) and we have water again although the pressure seems to be a little low.

I will drink the bottled stuff we picked up until the pipes clear in a few hours though.
