WBS appear to have blocked access to the torrent-box.org Domain.
I can get to the website from any other service, i.e. Vodacom3G, ADSL, Diginet, Sentech but not iBurst.

I've got a sneaky feeling WBS have blocked the website. If that is the case, they are going to get one really pissed off customer to deal with. WBS YOUR BALLS ARE MINE.

This is pretty much the last straw for me...
Alternate service time. **** I HATE YOU WBS.
Why do you do things like this. I'm glad you did badly in the broadband report.

Crash.... dont you think it was best to ask WBS before getting so emotional about it. As much as they give us bad service sometime and make terrible decitions sometimes... they do learn from their mistakes and could do with some building feedback. My advice... talk to them and if you dont like their explanation... well hell I am with you on that one...

Why would he even bother? WBS have shown that they lie to their customers almost non-stop. I would even say they lie more than telkom... which is saying a lot coming from me.

I have given up bothering with WBS. They are just incompetent. All the hopes I had for a good service provider with good service - pipe dream of note.

Well, I heard there was some or other trick you could use to leech stuff aside from the cap. I dont have iburst so i dunno. Cant see why they would block torrent-box, one could download ones "linux iso's" elsewhere anyways.

If it's a DNS balls up, then fine.
I've tried to query WBS Dns servers, but they just timeout, so I don't know whats going on there.

All the other servers I try work fine when doing an nslookup. I'd do a dig but I have a winblows box. :p

The fix in the other thread doesn't seem to work for me. Does it work for anyone else?

Nope doesn't work for me either. The problem is Iburst users go through the Iburst proxy which needs to do a lookup for the ip address (so that it can proxy the traffic) of TB but because there stupid DNS servers don't have any information on TB (tested by querying the Iburst DNS servers) their proxy fails which means it fails for us even though we have the right information. So we pretty much have to wait for the Iburst DNS servers to get A records for TB, and that's if WBS hasn't actually removed these records.
Otherwise if you have a proxy (socks or http) then you can use that proxy to to tunnel your traffic to TB, although at the moment the site is still not functioning correctly so there is no real point accessing the site yet.

Wbs Dns

ns-cache-01.cpt.wbs.co.za normally syncs before ns-cache-01.jhb.wbs.co.za, however, the latter is apparently the one used by the proxy...

Is Slimothy still banned, has he disappeared or is he just laying low?

I really need to ask him some questions about torrent-box...

Well ns-cache-01.cpt.wbs.co.za doesn't have any information on TB either so I guess it's going to be a long wait. That's if WBS aren't doing it purposefully.

Not too fussed at the moment though as the site is still not functioning correctly, once Slimothy has fixed it that's when WBS will hear from me if the DNS is still not right ;)

Unfortunately he is still banned. Read Fishfly's last post in the "www.torrent-box.org is open for business" thread to find out what he's up to and why no-one can get hold of him.
