You guys are gonna think I'm a conspiracy loon ...
My DLink router is now authenticating, but not all is working ... it refuses to update dyndns.org.
So I looked up their update spec ....
the ip addr will be read from the updating http connection. Now if you do this in a browser an auth login/passwd box will popup and you have to enter your dyndns.org usrname & passwd. This works perfectly from IE via my iBurst connection.
Unfortunately since routers have to update in the backround they cant authenticate via the popup, and they therefore add your username & password to the URL as such ...
Now this URL syntax, it seems to me, is being blocked by WBS's proxy server. Any URL with a syntax of ....
gets immediately blocked (no pause) ... remove the @ sign and it goes through. So has anyone else noticed your dyndns via dyndns.org is not updating? ... or am I going loon!
