Let me guess, cANCer has made them setup a schedule so we no longer have spare capacity

So basically the flats and outlying areas.

Heh - I'm between Plattekloof & Milnerton (Bothasig), no WC power here, but all areas around us are WC.

Dunno how they decide on who provides power to what areas.

Yes, it is odd. Does not make sense.

Oh - and my scheduled times are PRECISELY the same - go figure. Call it new schedules and then keep them the same. It creates the IMPRESSION that we're actually doing some work - Eskdom... -shrugs-

Well my schedule in Stellenbosch looks a lot better - more variety now but at least not the 18:00 - 20:30 every second/third night we have currently. Though we do get some 20:00-22:30s now which I was glad to be avoiding...

Ah yes, I see now towards the middle/end of the month there are some slight changes (for my area at least). Will feel very sorry for my wife with the 06:00 - 8:30AM slot if Eskom are to load shed that early in the morning already.

Didnt they add stage 4 ?

It's always been there. Had Stage 3a/3b, which became stage 3 & stage 4, quite some time ago...

This comes a huge relief to me.

In my area of town we always had loadshedding between 18:00 and 20:30.

Now it alternates between other slots earlier during the day too and the other areas that never experienced loadshedding in the evening, will do so now.

This new schedule does not make any sense. On the old one, loadshedding was split equally between all zones and time slots, with each zone having loadshedding exactly twice a month for each specific time slot (some zones once a month).
With the new schedule, some zones have loadshedding 4 times a month for some slots where other zones NEVER have loadshedding during certain timeslots.

http://www.capetown.gov.za/en/electricity/Documents/Winter_loadshedding_schedule_Jul15.pdf

Look at new schedule. Zones 11 and 15 appear 4 times during the 18h00 timeslot. Zones 1, 5 and 13 NEVER have loadshedding during that time. For Stage 2, Zones 11 and 15 appear 8 times and zones 1, 5 and 13 not once.

So, the new schedule is clearly not to make loadshedding more fair or evenly distributed, but rather to exclude certain areas from being loadshedded at certain times of the day. The previous schedule was actually 100% perfectly evenly distributed.

Below are tables for the old and new schedules, showing how many times each zone has loadshedding during each timeslot.
